Excellent Practice Opportunity in Maine:

A unique practice opportunity is available in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine in the heart of the Maine woods and recreational areas. An experienced ophthalmologist is seeking a partner to join in private, semi-private or hospital-based practice. Learn More.

Family Eyecare provides expert medical care for eye problems in a relaxed, caring environment. David P. Frasz, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist, a medical doctor and surgeon specializing in eye care. His staff includes ophthalmic medical assistants, a medical receptionist and medical billing staff.

MacInnes Optical is a full-service, independent optical shop with frames and lenses located across the street from the Family Eyecare office.

Family Eyecare provides complete, continuing eye care, including surgery, for eye problems such as cataracts and glaucoma, or for patients with related medical problems such as diabetes and high blood pressure. The practice has introduced advances such as laser surgery, combined cataract and glaucoma surgery and computer-assisted vision testing to Piscataquis County.

Ophthalmology services include comprehensive eye examinations, computer-assisted vision testing, walk-in eye emergencies, outpatient eye surgery, small incision cataract and lens implant surgery, glaucoma laser surgery, lid and facial surgery, glaucoma scanning, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal examinations, pediatric eye exams, contact lens complications, and consultations and second opinions. If you see an optometrist for regular eye check-ups, Dr. Frasz will work with that practitioner to avoid duplication of services. Family Eyecare does not dispense contact lenses or do Lasik (vision correction) laser surgery.

Regular office hours are Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri., 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. No referral is necessary to make an appointment. Medicare, Maine Care and most private insurances accepted. Some limitations on appointment times for Maine Care patients. Special effort is made to accommodate urgent problems the same day.
